WASHINGTON   –  U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) today announced that the conference report for the FY 2010 Interior Appropriations Act, which passed in the U.S. House of Representatives today, contains funding for an East Prairie project made at her request.  For improvement of the city’s stormwater drainage system, Emerson requested $200,000 be included in the bill.

“Water infrastructure is extremely important in Southern Missouri communities, and East Prairie’s stormwater drainage system is in dire need of improvement.  Shifting soil and collapsing culverts have damaged East Prairie’s roads, and this funding is very important to get repairs made,” Emerson said.  “At its heart, this is a matter of public safety on our roads.”
