| Washington, D.C. — Congressman Walter B. Jones (R-NC)
today voted for a bill that would establish a memorial to honor veterans
who became disabled while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
“Our disabled veterans deserve this important recognition and their families deserve something tangible as a reminder of their courageous service,” Jones said. H.R. 1509 would authorize the Disabled Veterans’ LIFE Memorial Foundation to establish a memorial in Washington, D.C. to honor disabled U.S. veterans. The proposed memorial would serve as the only memorial dedicated to disabled veterans. “The important sacrifice of our veterans is often forgotten or taken for granted. Today, we cast an important vote to provide a constant reminder of the unwavering commitment of these brave men and women,” Jones said. |
