PATERSON – U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-08), an original member of the House Homeland Security Committee, issued the following statement hailing today's announcement of a rule finalizing the incorporation of 50 cancers to now be covered under the James Zadroga 9/11 Health & Compensation Act:
“As we prepare to salute all of the brave men and women who risked their own lives and those heroes who gave their lives to save others on September 11, 2001, today's announcement is great news for those who still suffer from the dust and toxins found at Ground Zero. I'm proud to have fought to ensure we provide benefits for those who now face cancer as a result of working at Ground Zero, so I am thrilled that 50 cancers will now be covered under the James Zadroga 9/11 Health & Compensation Act. The brave men and women who risked their own lives to selflessly save the lives of others deserve to have the very best care our country can provide."
