WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-8), a member of the Committee on Ways and Means and House Budget Committee, released the following statement following this evening's Vice Presidential debate:
"After serving with Paul Ryan on the Budget and Ways and Means Committees, I can say that without a doubt he represents the most extreme policies of the far right. He wants take money from our seniors, children and middle class, and use it to increase defense spending and provide a massive tax cut for the very wealthy- truly Robin Hood in reverse. It is unacceptable that Mitt Romney has embraced Paul Ryan's extremist policies, which would likely produce the largest redistribution of income from the bottom to the top in U.S. history, ultimately shrinking our middle class and increasing poverty and inequality. The American people have rejected Paul Ryan Economics because it isn't good economic policy and it is morally wrong," said Rep. Pascrell.
