Brooklyn, NY - Congressman Ed Towns announces that he will host two Town Hall meetings from 7:00pm - 9:00pm at I.S. 218 Salome Urena Middle School on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 and Wednesday, March 19th, 2008 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm at P.S. 346, Auditorium at 1400 Pennsylvania Avenue. The meetings will cover the issues that have affected the 10th District as of late, specifically: the rising crime rate, concerns about mail delivery, and the issues related to the FCC's plan to switch from analog to digital television broadcasting.
The town hall meetings will enable members of the community to address their concerns regarding these issues and discuss them directly with Congressman Towns. The Congressman is equally concerned about the rise in crime in East New York, the poor postal service throughout the District, and that some residents face the threat of losing their television service due to FCC plans to discontinue analog television on February 18, 2009.
The Town Hall meetings hosted by Congressman Towns will give the members of the community the chance to begin resolving these matters. Congressman Towns has encouraged everyone to attend these important meetinge as he stressed, "These matters are too important to be ignored."
