Internships Available With Congressman Higgins

Congressman Brian Higgins (NY-27) invites local high school, college and graduate school students interested in learning first-hand how government works and in gaining valuable experience to apply for a spring internship with his offices.  Openings are available in the Jamestown, NY and Washington, DC offices.

“The ability to participate in this nation’s democratic process and make a difference in our local community is an opportunity I treasure each and every day,” said Congressman Higgins.  “I encourage students interested in learning from and contributing to the governmental process to contact my office.”

Congressman Higgins’ office offers both full-time and part-time unpaid internships in the spring, summer and fall semesters.  Interns will have the opportunity to be involved with a number of activities including:  supporting constituent relations, conducting legislative research, attending committee hearings and briefings and assisting with administrative tasks.  A limited number of interns will be accepted each semester.

To apply for an internship in the Chautauqua County office, located in Jamestown, please contact Donna Coughlin at 716-484-0729 or donna.coughlin@mail.house.gov.

To apply for an internship in Congressman Higgins’ Washington, D.C. office, please send a resume, cover letter, and 1-2 page writing sample to Intern Coordinator Jordan Loftis at jordan.loftis@mail.house.gov.
