Fallin Sponsors House Resolution Honoring Sam Bradford

Washington, DC -- Congresswoman Mary Fallin (OK-05) today spoke in favor of a House resolution honoring University of Oklahoma Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford.

             “It was a privilege to go to the floor of the House and recognize this outstanding young man and athlete,” Fallin said. “I was especially thrilled to be able to honor the Heisman Trophy winner from Putnam City North High School in my home district.”

             Fallin’s remarks noted that Bradford, an honor student who has been named to numerous all-academic teams, chose to return to school next year to complete his degree rather than opt for a professional contract.

             “I suspect there are hundreds of thousands of young Oklahomans who would love to be Sam Bradford,” she said. “We know his 2009 season will be ever more distinguished. Hopefully we can do this again next year when he wins his second Heisman.”
