The U.S. House honored University of Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford on Tuesday for winning the 2008 Heisman Trophy and for his academic achievements. "He is a great quarterback, he is a great young man, he is humble in victory, he is gracious in defeat,” Rep. Mary Fallin said Monday in support of the resolution she authored for the OU sophomore. The House passed the resolution 394-0 on Tuesday. Fallin, R-Oklahoma City, said Bradford could have chosen the NFL Draft and money this year "but decided to go back to school to earn his degree.” The resolution says Bradford, a finance major, has a 3.95 grade-point average. Bradford, 21, was the second sophomore to win the Heisman. The text of the House resolution is available at http://blog.newsok.com/washington. ### |
