| (Washington, DC) - Sixth District Congressman James E. Clyburn received a 100% rating from the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare for his votes on issues affecting senior citizens during the 107th Congress. This perfect score was awarded by the nation’s second largest grassroots organization dedicated to protecting the retirement security of all Americans.
“My focus in Congress is to insure a good quality of life for all our citizens. For seniors that means protecting retirement income and providing good quality, affordable health care with prescription drug benefits,” Congressman Clyburn said. “Social Security and Medicare are lynchpin programs that must be preserved to protect all Americans as they age.”
The score was based on seven votes cast in 2001 and six votes in 2002 in the U.S. House of Representatives.
