September 11 – September 11, 2001, is a day that will live in infamy. A day that we will remember the rest of our lives because every American knows where they were and what they were doing when evil surfaced in such an awful way. Then in the days and weeks that followed, love and heroism came and replaced terrorism and evil. America came back together and rebuilt itself, but we must remember those tragic events, and the sacrifices made and the extraordinary valor shown. They changed our lives from then on.
Our world is still not secure and our country is still not completely safe. We are more aware and working to improve security measures, but we still have many challenges to protect our borders.
On September 11 each year our nation pauses to remember. Today, we do that with humble hearts, deep remorse over the loss of life, and with a lot of pride in the United States of America. We are reminded how precious our freedom, liberty and security are, and how we must be vigilant to preserve those things as we remember September 11, 2001.
