June 25 – Congressman Zach Wamp and members of the House Nuclear Cleanup Caucus aggressively worked to defeat an effort that would have taken $2.6 billion away from our nation’s Environmental Management Program. The Administration has already underfunded environmental cleanup programs in next year’s budget, and further cuts would have undermined the base budget levels that Zach has worked so hard to stabilize for the last 15 years. Congressman Wamp actively fought with his caucus colleagues before the issue came to the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to preserve the funding necessary to meet the current missions of the Oak Ridge Reservation, clean up the lasting legacy of the Cold War and move our country forward.
