July 16 – The independent Congressional Budget Office has confirmed that the Democrats’ health care reform would drive our nation deeper into debt. The budget deficit already adds more than a trillion dollars each year to our national debt, and a government takeover of health care would further weaken our economy. The last thing small businesses and working Americans need during this severe recession is another tax increase, especially after Democrats just crammed through a cap-and-trade national energy tax. Rather than burdening the American people with a reckless bill that could cost millions of Americans their jobs, we should be focusing on expanding access to health care by reducing costs and at the same time make sure patients have the right to choose a health care plan that best suits their needs.
