July 30 – After a yearlong deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, 72 Tennessee National Guard members have returned home to anxious family and friends. The ‘Conquer’ soldiers of the 30th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion embodied the volunteer spirit and left the comforts of home to serve in the defense of freedom. The battalion did a remarkable job of providing logistical support in northern Iraq, transporting vital supplies and troops in more than 1,000 convoys covering 2.9 million miles. These men and women are great American heroes and have made our state and nation very proud. Thank you for serving and welcome home.
