March 19 – Congressman Zach Wamp released the following statement about President Obama’s intent to nominate Ines Triay to the post of Assistant Secretary for Environmental Management at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE): “With 24 years of hands-on clean up experience at the Department of Energy, Dr. Ines Triay is a wise choice for Assistant Secretary for Environmental Management. Using her expertise and first-hand knowledge of legacy Cold War clean up, Dr. Triay showed vision and foresight by initiating the Footprint Reduction plan and the Energy Park project. These efforts will create jobs, accelerate cleanup and make large tracts of land and infrastructure available to support new missions in Oak Ridge. I look forward to working with Ines to continue advancing IFDP, the Integrated Facilities Disposition Project, in East Tennessee and across the DOE complex.”
