September 23 – The Chickamauga Creek has crested and is starting to recede, but it will be another day or two before we know the full extent of the devastation. From what I have seen, areas of Hamilton County look very similar to how they did six years ago when we achieved 100-year-flood status. This is a serious event, particularly for those who have been forced from their homes, and I will continue working with state and local authorities to make sure our neighbors receive the support they need to get back on their feet. My thoughts and prayers are with the families directly affected by this excessive flooding.
