January 22 – Thousands of young pro-life activists gathered in Washington today for the annual March for Life and other demonstrations to mark the 36th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision to legalize abortion. Congressman Zach Wamp issued the following statement about this tragic anniversary:
“Since the Supreme Court issued its Roe v. Wade decision 36 years ago, hundreds of thousands of Americans have marched to mourn the millions of innocent unborn human lives that have ended in abortion. Today’s March for Life will gather thousands more pro-life activists to defend those who cannot defend themselves in Washington and in local events throughout the country. We welcome those who march and the attention they bring to the pro-life movement.”
“This is a day to recommit ourselves to the cause of the unborn. I believe that life begins at conception, and will continue to stand up for all innocent life by consistently voting for life.”
