| WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Jeb Hensarling (TX-05) was recognized as a “True Blue” Member of Congress by the Family Research Council Action and Focus on the Family Action for his unwavering support of American families. The award honors Members of Congress who have exhibited leadership and commitment to the defense of family, faith, and freedom, according to the Family Research Council’s new scorecard, which tallies House and Senate votes during the 1st session of the 110th Congress. Congressman Hensarling scored 100% for his support of pro-family legislation in 2007. “It is truly an honor to be recognized for my work to promote strong families here in Washington,” Congressman Hensarling said. “Faith, family, and freedom are the core values upon which America was founded, and I remain committed to seeing that we protect them. “The Members of the 110th Congress who received this award have been consistent, stalwart allies of American families,” said Family Research Council Action President Tony Perkins. “These Members are to be commended for supporting public policy that values human life, protects our religious liberties, and upholds the institutions of marriage and the family.” |
