CONGRESSMAN NEUGEBAUER NAMED TOP TEXAS CONSERVATIVE

AND ONE OF ‘ELITE 8’ MOST CONSERVATIVE IN NATION

Washington, D.C. - According to the 2007 Vote Ratings by the National Journal, a leading nonpartisan publisher of political, policy and government information, Congressman Randy Neugebauer (TX-19) has received the high distinction of being the most conservative Texan in the U.S. House of Representatives. Neugebauer received a rating of 93.3%, the highest conservative rating of any member of the House of Representatives.

“I vote my district and my conscience and let the ratings fall where they may.  I was sent to Washington to represent conservative values, both socially and fiscally, and I have not wavered from that commitment.  I am a conservative, representing a conservative district, so I would hope to rank highly on this scale.  It is nice to see that people are verifying that I am upholding the standards of those I represent in my votes,” Neugebauer stated.

This impressive rating also gives Congressman Neugebauer the elite distinction of being in the top tier of Most Conservative Representatives in the Nation. Only seven other Members of the House scored the same rating of 93.3% and none scored higher.

The 2007 Vote Ratings are based on and divided into three categories: economic issues, social issues and foreign policy. These ratings rank lawmakers according to how they vote relative to each other on a conservative to liberal scale.
