Thursday, June 11, 2009
U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee (D-Wash.) announced $386,000 in funding for energy projects in Washington state from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), disbursed through the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of Energy.
Details of the funding awards are as follows:
-
Washington Technology Center (Seattle, WA)
Estimated Funding: up to $136,000
This project will develop nano-scale printing technology to enhance light absorption and improve the performance of thin crystalline silicon devices in solar energy technology. -
Vaagen Brothers Lumber, Inc. (Colville, WA)
Estimated Funding: $250,000
This funding will help to increase efficiency of biomass removal.
“This funding is further proof that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is working every day to strengthen Washington state’s economy and spur our energy innovation sector,” said Inslee, a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. “These investments will cut our national carbon emissions and keep Washingtonians on the cutting-edge of the clean energy revolution in these green-collar jobs.”
