Washington, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Brian Baird (WA-03) today announced $3.6 million in U.S. Dept. of Transportation funding for runway repairs at Olympia Airport in Olympia, Washington.  As a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Rep. Baird was pleased to announce this funding that will be distributed by the Federal Aviation Administration.

“I am pleased to announce this grant funding that will improve the safety of travelers flying in and out of our state’s capitol,” said Congressman Baird.  “This federal funding will help upgrade Olympia Airport’s runway by extending the pavement life of the runway up to twenty years and enhancing overall operational safety.”
