| February 11, 1997 - In
an unprecedented constituent outreach effort, 9th district Congressman
Adam Smith will go door-to-door seeking constituent input on Saturday,
February 15 and Saturday, February 22. "In order to do my job well, I need
to go door-to-door and listen to the people I represent," said Smith.
Smith will stay close to home on Saturday, February 15. He will walk the neighborhoods of Kent's West Hill, just blocks from his own home. The following Saturday, Smith will visit the opposite end of his district: Tenino. "I want to bring government closer to the people," Smith explained. "That means going to their doors, finding out how they're doing, and seeing if I can help. I want the people I represent to know me." |
