| May 15, 1997 - In
an unprecedented constituent out-reach effort, 9th district Congressman
Adam Smith will go door-to-door seeking constituent input on Saturday,
May 17. "In order to do my job well, I need to go door-to-door and listen
to the people I represent," said Smith.
Smith will doorbell neighborhoods in the Edgewood area of Pierce County. He has previously doorbelled in Tenino and Kent. "I want to bring government closer to the people," Smith explained. "That means going to their doors, finding out how they're doing, and seeing if I can help. I want the people I represent to know me." |
