| April 13, 1998 - Ninth
District Congressman Adam Smith will donate $600 towards Bethel School
District's orchestra program at the Bethel School Board meeting tomorrow
at 7:00 p.m. at the district office, located at 516 E. 176th Street in
Spanaway.
After voting against a 2.3 percent cost-of-living allowance for Members of Congress that passed last year, Smith promised to donate his entire pay raise to local education programs throughout the district. The $600 donation to the Bethel School District is his second announced donation so far. Smith's $600 donation will be matched by Tom Anderson, owner of the Plaza 2 Music Centers. Their combined donation will purchase a cello for the Bethel orchestra. |
