Washington -- U.S. Representative Barbara Cubin (R-WY) announced today her nomination of 26 Wyoming students to join the class of 2012 at the U.S. Air Force, Military and Naval academies.
“It is my privilege to nominate these outstanding young men and women for appointment to our nation’s prestigious military academies,” Cubin said. “These young scholars, athletes and community leaders represent the best and brightest of Wyoming’s youth. They each have the potential to win academy appointments and I wish them the best of luck.”
Young men and women interested in attending the U.S. military academies sent applications to Cubin’s congressional office and were interviewed by her review committee. The nominees were selected using a number of guidelines including character, leadership, academic achievement, physical aptitude, medical fitness, goals and motivation. Those nominated will now be screened by academy officials and selected for admission. Final appointments will be announced later this spring by the academies.
Cubin expressed sincere thanks to her nomination review committee for their hard work during the difficult selection process.
