Washington -- In response to false allegations regarding U.S. Representative Barbara Cubin launched earlier today by the Wyoming Democratic Party, Cubin spokesperson Alison McGuire issued the following statement:

"This is a prime example of the Wyoming Democratic Party’s willingness to twist the facts at any possible opportunity," McGuire said. "First of all, Barbara did indeed vote to give hard-working Americans a minimum wage increase - just recently in the very same bill in which she voted to fund the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who are battling terrorist forces in Iraq. She voted for it and the President signed the bill into law. By the way, the minimum wage increase was included in the same bill that 140 of Bill Luckett’s fellow Democrats voted against - but he wouldn’t mention that, would he?

"Second, Barbara Cubin has never in her career voted to give herself a pay increase, and anything Bill Luckett wants to say will not make that true. If he wants to claim that she has, he’s welcome to, but I challenge him or anyone else to find an actual bill number or legislative language of her voting to do so. The fact of the matter is, Bill Luckett’s claims are just not true. But then again, facts don’t seem to matter much to him, do they?"
