Cubin Statement on War Supplemental
Different Bill, Same Bad Story

Washington -- U.S. Representative Barbara Cubin (R-WY) issued the following statement last night as the House considered war supplemental legislation offered by House Democrats to ration funding for American troops fighting the Global War on Terror:

"Today on the floor of the House of Representatives, we have seen round two of a shameful attempt by the tax-and-spend Democrats to play politics with the funding our troops need to be safely and adequately prepared.  Again, they have come to the floor with a veto-bound war funding bill that is altogether too similar to the one the President just vetoed.  It is loaded with non-emergency spending, arbitrary benchmarks and deadlines that will set America on a course for surrender and defeat. Enough is enough.

"Just as I have said before, I will stand behind our men and women in uniform who continue to risk their lives in the name of an America that is free from the fear of terror and violence.  I will vote against this bill, and I will continue to push for the clean war spending bill the Pentagon has asked for."
