Emanuel Statement on Arab League Meeting with Israel

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, U.S. Representative Rahm Emanuel (IL-5) released the following statement praising the Arab League for holding joint meetings with Israeli leaders in Jerusalem.

“Today marks an important day for the people of Israel, for the Egyptians, the Jordanians and all people throughout the region. Lasting peace can only be achieved with true partners, and starting this dialogue is the right step on the path towards enduring peace and prosperity in the Middle East. The region deserves a chance to live in peace, and diplomacy will usher in a new era in the Middle East where Israelis and Arabs can live side by side.”
