The funds will be used to complete the feasibility phase and begin preliminary engineering and design to improve water quality and enhance aquatic and terrestrial habitat along the Grand Calumet River. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ mission includes environmental dredging and this project is a federally authorized activity pursuant to section 312, of Public Law 101-966, as modified by section 205, of Public Law 104-303.
