Amount Requested: $6,670,000
The funding will be used by the Town of Cedar Lake to construct a new sanitary sewer interceptor along Parrish Avenue. The new line would allow the town to provide relief to the existing sewer system and allow for future development. The project would eliminate surcharge events caused by the inadequate existing system and prevent wasterwater from entering into Cedar Lake. Investment in wastewater infrastructure provides significant environmental, public health, and economic benefits to the local communities and the nation.
