Amount Requested: $150,000
The funding will be used by the Town of Chesterton to construct a lift station, gravity sewers, and laterals to five properties along North Calumet Road. Currently the properties’ sewage is treated in an Imhoff tank that discharges into the Little Calumet River. This has been an ongoing project with the Porter County Health Department. Investment in wastewater infrastructure provides significant environmental, public health, and economic benefits to the local communities and the nation.
