Amount Requested: $2,500,000
The funding will be used to extend the City of Rensselaer’s sewage and water utilities to a retail area with failing septic systems. Supplying these establishments access to the city sewer system eliminates the health problems associated with outdated septic systems. Investment in wastewater infrastructure provides significant environmental, public health, and economic benefits to the local communities and the nation.
