Amount Requested: $2,545,000
The funding will be used by the Town of Schererville to upgrade the headworks and raw sewage pumping at the wastewater treatment plant. This project will improve screening and grit removal at peak flow rates, while increasing peak pumping capacity needed to handle additional flow anticipated with the completion of an interceptor sewer. Investment in wastewater infrastructure provides significant environmental, public health, and economic benefits to the local communities and the nation.
