News Clip May 7, 2009       Could Chrysler Kenosha plant be retooled?   (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)— Washington - As they protest Chrysler's decision to end production at its Kenosha engine plant, Wisconsin lawmakers are urging the automaker and the government to look into retooling the facility by tapping a $25 billion federal loan program for the production of "advanced technology" vehicles. "Here is $25 billion waiting to be used intelligently to retool plants," Wisconsin Sen. Herb Kohl said in an interview Thursday. Kohl raised the issue in a letter also signed by Senate colleague Russ Feingold and U.S. House members Paul Ryan of Janesville and Gwen Moore of Milwaukee and sent Thursday to Steven Rattner, head of President Barack Obama's Automotive Task Force. ...View full article News Clip List
