Applying what one has learned in the classroom is instrumental in
obtaining a great education. This is why we encourage young people to gain
experience outside the classroom. Our office encourages qualified students
to apply for internships, not just in our district office but also our
Washington D.C. office.

Answer and screen telephone calls for the Member and other staff
members and take messages; |

Perform general typing and administrative assignments;

Track legislative developments within committees, plan and coordinate
co-sponsorship, and support other legislation; |
 |
Assist in monitoring legislation on the House floor, providing the
Member with information on specific votes; |
 |
Assist in helping prepare Member for committee meetings and hearings
with or without the Member. Will meet with interest groups and
constituents; |
 |
Perform special projects assigned by Chief of Staff;

Answer constituent letters and help constituents on federal matters;
|
 |
Meet attendance requirements as established by the office;
|
 |
Maintain a good working relationship with the Member, staff, and
constituents; |
 |
Work cooperatively and courteously with other;
|
 |
Accept performance based criticism and direction;
|
 |
Possess the ability to work well under pressure and handle stress;
|
 |
Perform other duties as assigned. |
