Washington, DCA prominent Catholic social justice organization recognized Congressman Joe Baca (D-Rialto) for his work on behalf of poor and vulnerable Americans.  The national group Network, which advocates for social justice and peace, expressed its appreciation to the Congressman for his votes on key issues including support for programs that help children, families, the hungry, the poor and the homeless.

Rep. Baca said, “A commitment to social justice is important to me.  My work in Congress reflects the values of my faith as well as the needs of so many Inland residents.  I am especially concerned about the welfare of the most vulnerable people in our community, and I believe we have an obligation to help them.  I am proud of the social justice work that so many Catholics in the San Bernardino Diocese are engaged in, just as I appreciate the efforts of Network to serve as a national voice for those in need.”

Rep. Baca’s office was notified of the honor today.  On the certificate of honor presented to the Congressman, Network wrote, “We thank Congressman Baca for consistently voting on behalf of social and economic justice.  His voting record reflects a principled and passionate commitment to just government policies and programs.”
