Representative  Baca Announces Inland Empire Water Conference

Fights for clean drinking water for All Californians

 

 
  SAN BERNARDINO, C.A.   On Friday, July 25, 2003 from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM Congressman Baca will host his annual water conference entitled “ Water the Next Crisis II”.   The water conference will be held at the San Bernardino Hilton Hotel located at 285 East Hospitality Lane.  The keynote speaker is State Senator Michael Machado (5th Senatorial District) who will share information about Proposition 50, California’s Water Bond Initiative.  U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer has taped a special message to be aired at the conference. 

Congressman Baca hosts this annual event realizing the critical importance of water issues in the Inland Empire.   “California’s future depends on investment in water supply and water security, water quality and safe drinking water. Protecting our rivers, lakes, bays and coastal waters from contamination is of utmost importance to all Californians.”  This conference will provide a forum to discuss a wide range of issues regarding the Inland Empire’s water needs, such as perchlorate contamination and its health risks, regulatory issues, how to drought-proof the Inland Empire and water availability in these tenuous times.
