Our nation's capital offers an impressive variety of things to see and do: explore the museums to view some of America's treasures, tour the monuments in remembrance of our nation's heroes, or visit federal agencies to witness your government in action. With advance notice, my office can assist you in obtaining tour tickets tickets for many of Washington's popular attractions by contacting our D.C. Office at (202) 225-3536. I encourage everyone from Southwest Washington to drop by my Congressional office during their visit to Washington, D.C. to pick up Gallery Passes for the U.S. House of Representatives Chamber.

Arlington Cemetery: (Click to view website)
Visit the graves of Presidents John F. Kennedy and William Howard Taft, the Curtis-Lee Mansion, and the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Open daily October through March from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and April through September from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Metro: Arlington Cemetery. (703) 692-0931.

Bureau of Engraving and Printing: (Click to view website)
See how U.S. currency, at a rate of $30 million daily, is printed. Located at 1400 C St. S.W. Open Monday through Friday (Federal Holidays Excluded) from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with tours conducted every 20 minutes. Admission Fee: None, but tickets are required. Public same-day tour tickets are given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Metro: Smithsonian. Interested parties may contact my office for tickets.

FDR Memorial: (Click to view website)
One of the most expansive memorials in the nation, the monument to our 32nd President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt has four outdoor "rooms" containing shade trees, waterfalls, statuary, and quiet alcoves. Open 24 hours daily. Located between the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials on Ohio Drive and West Basin Drive.

The FBI tour is currently closed due to extensive renovations. It is scheduled to reopen during 2005. Contact my DC office for the most up to date information. Metro: Archives/Navy Memorial. (202) 324-3447.

Ford's Theatre and Lincoln Museum: (Click to view website)
A living memorial, President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated here in 1865. Located at 517 10th Street, N.W. Open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except during rehearsals and performances. Metro: Metro Center. (202) 426-6924.

Holocaust Memorial Museum: (Click to view website)
Established by Congress, this museum is a national memorial to the Holocaust of World War II. Located at 100 Raul Wallenberg Place, S.W. Open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Admission Fee: None, but same day tickets are needed to view the permanent exhibit and are given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets can also be ordered in advance on the museum’s website. Metro: Smithsonian. (202) 488-0400.

Jefferson Memorial: (Click to view website)
See the bronze statue of Thomas Jefferson inside a replica of the Roman Pantheon. Located at the Tidal Basin in East Potomac Park, S.W. Open 24 hours daily. (202) 426-6821.

John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts: (Click to view website)
This tribute to President John F. Kennedy has five theaters, and is home to the National Symphony Orchestra, the Washington Opera, and the American Film Institute. Tours are conducted by Kennedy Center volunteers daily from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Located 2700 F Street, NW. Metro: Foggy Bottom. Interested parties may contact my office for tickets.

Korean War Memorial: (Click to view website)
An etched granite mural runs alongside statues of soldiers as a memorial to those who fought in the Korean War. Located on the National Mall, southeast of the Lincoln Memorial. Open 24 hours daily. Metro: Foggy Bottom. (202) 634-1568.

Library of Congress: (Click to view website)
Visit the largest library in the world and one of the most beautiful buildings in Washington. The Jefferson Building is located at First Street and Independence Avenue, S.E. Public tours are every hour on the half-hour from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m (except 12:30 p.m.) from Monday to Friday, and from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (except 12:30 p.m.) on Saturday.

Lincoln Memorial: (Click to view website)
One of Washington's most famous statues is President Abraham Lincoln seated inside the Greek Parthenon replica. Located on 23rd Street and Constitution Avenue, N.W. Open 24 hours daily. Metro: Foggy Bottom. (202) 426-6895.

National Archives: (Click to view website)
See the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Located at 8th Street and Constitution Avenue, N.W. Open daily 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Metro: Archives. Interested parties may contact my office for tickets.

National Gallery of Art: (Click to view website)
Classical and Modern art exhibits. Located at 4th Street and Constitution Avenue, N.W. Open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission Fee: None. Metro: Archives. (202) 737-4215.

National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial: (Click to view website)
A marble wall plaza engraved with the names of officers killed in the line of duty. Located between E and F and 4th and 5th Streets, NW. Open 24 hours daily. Metro: (202) 737-3400.

National Zoological Park: (Click to view website)
Located at 3001 Connecticut Avenue, N.W. Open daily from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Metro: Woodley Park/Zoo.

Pentagon: (Click to view website)

U.S. Supreme Court: (Click to view website)
Public tours are conducted every hour on the half hour except when court is in session. Located on First Street and Maryland Avenue. Admission Fee: None. Metro: Capitol South. Interested parties may contact my office for tickets.

Tourmobile Service: (Click to view website)
These guided tourmobiles, provided through the National Park Service, allow unlimited reboarding at points between Capitol Hill and Arlington Cemetery. For information and rates, please call (202) 554-7950.

United States Capitol: (Click to view website)
See the Rotunda, Statuary Hall, the Old Supreme Court and Old Senate Chamber. Located at First Street and Independence Avenue. Tours are conducted Monday - Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM and can be arranged by contacting my office. Additionally, I am happy to provide gallery passes to the House Chamber - just drop by my office at 2443 Rayburn House Office Building. Metro: Capitol South.

U.S. Naval Observatory: (Click to view website)
View the night sky through a 12-inch telescope. Located 34th Street and Massachusetts Avenue, N.W. Open Monday evenings at 8:30 p.m. Metro: (202) 762-1438.

Vietnam Veterans Memorial: (Click to view website)
A memorial to the more than 58,000 soldiers who lost their lives in the Vietnam War. Located at Henry Bacon Drive and Constitution Avenue, N.W. Open 24 hours daily. Metro: Smithsonian. (202) 634-1568.

Washington Monument: (Click to view website)
Take an elevator ride to the top of the 555 foot structure for Washington's best view. Open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Public same-day tickets are given out on a first-come, first-serve basis starting at 8:00 a.m. For a nominal fee tickets can be reserved in advance by calling 1-800-967-2283 or over the internet at http://reservations.nps.gov. Metro: Smithsonian.

The White House: (Click to view website)
Located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.. White House Tours are available with substantial advance notice - contact our office for more information. A virtual tour of the White House is available online. Metro: McPherson Square.
