WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Marion Berry (D-AR, 1st) announced today that four Arkansas counties are eligible for emergency loan assistance following a series of severe storms, high winds, tornadoes, and excessive rainfall that swept through Arkansas and Missouri on September 22, 2006. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has issued a formal disaster declaration, making residents and business owners in Clay, Craighead, Greene, and Mississippi Counties eligible for Farm Service Agency low-interest loans.
Individuals interested in applying for financial assistance should contact their local Farm Service Agency (FSA) office within the next eight months to receive emergency assistance.
