WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Marion Berry (D-AR, 1st) today announced that Cabot, Arkansas native Gabe Holmstrom has been added to his Washington, DC-based congressional staff.
Previously, Holmstrom worked in Berry’s Cabot office as a field representative. In the Washington office, Holmstrom will fill the position of legislative assistant and will follow a variety of policy issues including energy, labor and environment.
“I’m pleased that Gabe has agreed to move to Washington, DC and will play a very important role in my office there. He did a great job as a field representative in Cabot and -- because of his extensive travel in that role -- has a good, working knowledge of the First Congressional District and the legislative issues affecting it. That knowledge will be especially useful in his new role in Washington, DC,” Berry said.
Holmstrom graduated from Cabot High School in May 1995 and from University of Arkansas-Little Rock in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and history. In 2001, Holmstrom was named the Arkansas Young Democrat of the Year by the Democratic Party of Arkansas.
Holmstrom has worked for Berry since June 2001. Last year, Holmstrom left the government payroll to serve as the full-time field director of Berry’s successful 2002 re-election campaign. |
