Congresswoman Bordallo Issues Statement on National Guard Casualties in Afghanistan
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – July 11, 2008 – Washington, D.C. –
Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo issued the following statement upon learning of the recent passing of Guam National Guardsmen serving with Alpha Company in Afghanistan:
“I join the people of Guam in mourning the deaths of SGT Brian Leon Guerrero and SPC Samson Mora, who were fatally injured in Afghanistan. We also pray for SPC Kalani Echang who was seriously injured in the same incident in Afghanistan.”
“I spoke with the families of SGT Leon Guerrero and SPC Mora to offer my condolences and my assistance to help them in this most difficult time. I also spoke with the family of SPC Echang and I offered my hope for his full recovery and pledged whatever assistance my office can provide.”
“Our island mourns the loss of life and we honor their service to our nation. Their ultimate sacrifice for our freedom is a debt that we can never fully repay. We will remember them as heroes and we will do whatever we can to help ease the burden on their families.”
