Congresswoman Bordallo Issues Statement on Death of Petty Officer Second Class (PO2) Anthony M. Carbullido
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – August 10, 2008
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo issued the following statement upon learning of the death of Petty Officer Second Class (PO2) Anthony M. Carbullido, USN, in Afghanistan. PO2 Carbullido was a Hospital Corpsman assigned to the Naval Hospital Corps School in Great Lakes, Ill and performing operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). He passed away after his convoy hit an improvised explosive device.
“I join the people of Guam in mourning the loss of a son of Guam, Petty Officer Anthony M. Carbullido. We extend our sympathies and prayers to his family, friends and loved ones."
“Petty Officer Carbullido was a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We share the burden of his loss with his family and we pray that they will be comforted in knowing that our island community will always remember and honor Anthony for his service."
