Operation Iraqi Freedom
Wounded at Walter Reed Medical Center
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – April 10, 2003–
Washington, D.C. - Yesterday, Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo
visited members of the armed forces at Walter Reed Medical Center
in Washington, D.C. Congressman Duncan Hunter, Chairman of the House
Committee on Armed Services, invited Members of Congress to visit
American servicemen recuperating at the facility from injuries sustained
in combat. Congresswoman Bordallo was among five Members who attended.
Walter Reed Memorial Hospital serves members of the Armed Services,
including many who have sustained service-related illnesses and
injuries.
“Our nation truly owes a debt of gratitude to our
men and women in uniform who are participating in Operation Iraqi
Freedom,” said Congresswoman Bordallo. “While
it was moving to watch on television the events unfolding in Baghdad,
it was far more memorable to me to talk to the soldiers and marines
who were injured and whose dedication and bravery are an inspiration
for all Americans. The members of Congress who made this visit expressed
the profound gratitude of the American people.”
