Weather delays Congressional Delegation; Arrival anticipated on Wednesday

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—April 2, 2007Hagatna, GU –

The Congressional Delegation, lead by Congressman Solomon Ortiz (D-TX), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Readiness, which was to have arrived tomorrow morning, still plans to visit Guam, most likely on Wednesday, April 4.

In light of current weather conditions, the events planned for tomorrow have been cancelled.  Depending on post-storm conditions and the CODEL’s actual arrival, a compressed schedule of events is being planned now, according to Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo’s chief of staff, John Whitt.  More information will be released as conditions allow.

The CODEL includes Congresswoman Bordallo, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (D-CA), and Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC).
