FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – October 20, 2009 – Washington, D.C. –
Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo has requested a meeting with Phil Maestri, Director of the Office of Risk Management at the U.S. Department of Education (USDOE). The meeting between Congresswoman Bordallo and Mr. Maestri would discuss and review the Guam Department of Education's (Guam DOE) response to the recent Show Cause letter of September 28, 2009 regarding Guam DOE's fiscal management of federal funds. The meeting is currently scheduled for Thursday, October 22, 2009. “In my letter to Mr. Maestri, I expressed my confidence in Dr. Underwood’s leadership of the Guam Department of Education,” Congresswoman Madeleine Z.
