Internship Opportunities

The Congressional Internship Program in Congresswoman Bordallo's office is an excellent opportunity to learn about the federal government and public policy issues while spending a summer or semester dedicated to public service.

Interns will receive a stipend for their service. Academic credit may be earned if requested and pre-arranged with the student’s academic institution. Our office will be happy to work with you if you are requesting credit for your internship through your school or university.

Interns work closely with staff on a variety of legislative projects. Responsibilities will include conducting legislative research, responding to constituent requests, and performing general office duties.

Students interested in applying for an internship in Washington, D.C. should e-mail a letter of interest and resume to Madeleine.Bordallo@mail.house.gov. Letters of interest should be addressed to Congresswoman Bordallo, attention Intern Coordinator. Our office will contact candidates for an interview upon receipt and review of applications.

Summer internships in Washington, D.C. are open to rising college seniors and undergraduates. Summer interns work full-time for a six-week period. The deadline for summer applications is April 1 of each year.

Part-time internships in Washington, D.C. are open to undergraduates in the area during the fall and spring academic semesters. Applications for part-time internships are accepted throughout the year.

Congresswoman Bordallo also offers a summer internship opportunity for a third-year undergraduate at the University of Guam. UOG interns work in the Guam District Office but spend two weeks in Washington, D.C. to enhance their educational experience. UOG interns are selected by our office, in consultation with President of the University of Guam.
