Service Academies:  If you would like to apply to one of the Service Academies (Air Force, Army, Navy, or Merchant Marine) you may contact my office to express your interest at the end of your Junior year of High School.  Information about Service Academies

 

Tour Requests:  Certain tours may be scheduled through my Washington office if notified in advance.  Tours for the White House, Capitol and Bureau of Printing and Engraving are available. While it is recommended that these tours be scheduled months in advance, they are not guaranteed at any time.  You may request tours by calling (202) 225-2276.  House and Senate Gallery passes are available on days when Congress is in Session  Washington Tourist Attractions

Assistance with Government Agencies:   If you would like personal assistance with problems relating to agencies of the Federal Government (such as Social Security, Medicare, the Internal Revenue Service, Veterans issues, etc), or if you would like assistance in obtaining a passport.

usa flagFlag Requests: I believe that the American Flag which symbolizes freedom and opportunity embodies the nationhood of the United States and should be honored with the highest respect.  Constituents in the 5th Congressional District of Indiana may purchase their own American Flag through my office.  You may request that the flag be flown over the U.S. Capitol, courtesy of the Architect of the Capitol, for an additional charge.  Complete the flag request form and send to Congressman Dan Burton with your check enclosed, to 2308 Rayburn HOB, Washington DC 20515.  Flag Request Form

InternsInternships: Congressional Internships are available to college students or recent graduates.  Internships provide an excellent opportunity to see first hand the legislative process in action.  Responsibilities include assisting with incoming mail, working with legislative staff on special projects, and general office duties.  If you would like to apply for an internship, click here

Pages:  Being a Page in the U.S. House of Representatives is an exciting and rewarding experience that gives students an opportunity to have a contributing role in the legislative branch of our government.  To be qualified to serve as a Page applicants must be a high school junior at least 16 years of age at the time their appointment begins and have a cumulative grade point average of "B" or better in all major subjects to date (9th grade through first semester of current year).  If you would like to be sponsored by Congressman Burton for a Page appointment you may request an application from the Page Coordinator at my Washington, DC, office by calling (202) 225-2276.
