Congressman Mike Capuano praised President Obama for his announcement in the State of the Union Address that the Administration would take $30 billion in repaid TARP funds for job creation efforts.

Capuano Introduces Legislation in Response to Supreme Court Citizens United Ruling

In response to the Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United V. the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Congressman Mike Capuano has filed legislation requiring a shareholder vote before any corporate general treasury funds can be spent on political activity.

Capuano Urges Administration to Stop TARP Recipients from Paying Out Big Bonuses

Rep. Mike Capuano and fifteen of his House colleagues wrote to TARP Pay Czar Kenneth Feinberg and Secretary of Treasury Timothy Geithner, urging them to prohibit TARP recipients who still owe money to taxpayers from paying out big bonuses.

My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Haiti who are suffering so much as a result of the recent earthquake. The devastation is stunning and the loss of life is heartbreaking. Many are wondering what they can do to help. Others are anxiously waiting to hear from loved ones in Haiti. If you need information about loved ones, the State Department has established a hotline: 1-888-407-4747. Anyone seeking information about U.S. citizens in Haiti can also e-mail the State Department at Haiti-Earthquake@state.gov.
