Chabot Announces Federal Funds for Cincinnati Police Department's Crime Cameras
September 2, 2008
Congressman Steve Chabot (R-Westwood) today announced that the U.S. Department of Justice has finalized a federal grant of $1,967,566 to the Cincinnati Police Department (CPD) for its crime surveillance camera initiative.  The funding was included by Chabot as a line item in the Consolidated Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2008.

Chabot Says No to Adjournment, Presses Speaker for Vote on Energy Legislation

Congressman Steve Chabot (R-OH) today delivered a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), requesting a special session of Congress to consider legislation intended to lower gas prices and reduce U.S. dependence on foreign oil.  Yesterday, the House narrowly passed a motion to adjourn for the next five weeks, without addressing important energy legislation.  Congressman Chabot voted against the resolution to adjourn.

Delta Queen Mutiny Reigns in House

The nearly 82-year-old Delta Queen still makes trips on the Ohio and Mississippi rivers for its overnight passengers, as most Marietta residents know, splashing along between river towns with its history and commerce in tow. That tradition will end in about four months unless Congress changes course and decides to let America’s last steam-powered Sternwheeler for overnight passengers continue its runs up and down the rivers.
