Student Artists Honored in Artistic Discovery Competition

Washington, D.C. - Rep. Deal is pleased to announce the Ninth District winners for An Artistic Discovery, an annual nationwide Congressional High School Art Competition. An Artistic Discovery gives Members and the public an opportunity to promote and acknowledge the rich artistic talents of America's young people. The first place Ninth District entry, by Ashley Marascalco of Gainesville, Georgia, will be displayed in the United States Capitol tunnel for ten months.

"The students of the Ninth District submitted excellent work, and I am glad to have the chance to honor these gifted artists, as well as their teachers. I congratulate the five winners, and look forward to seeing Miss Marascalco's work in the Capitol," Deal stated.
