Visiting the Capitol

Recently the new Capitol Visitors Center opened on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol. This new facility is intended to enhance the experience of all visitors to the Capitol by providing a more educational and convenient procedure for visitors. With the new facility in place some of the tour procedures for my office will be changing as well. As before, my office will continue to provide staff-led tours for any constituent who contacts my office for a tour during normal business hours. Additionally, constituents may request a Guide Service’s tour via the internet by going to www.visitthecapitol.com.

When you place a reservation through my office, you will receive an e-mail from the Capitol Advanced Reservation Service that will include your tour time and a barcode which will need to be printed and brought with you to receive your Capitol tickets.

While the procedure has changed, we still wish to invite all constituents to begin their tour by visiting my Congressional Office located in room 2133 of the Rayburn House Office Building. There you can store any items which may otherwise be prohibited during your visit through the Capitol Building. Due to necessary travel time, we ask that you arrive in my Congressional Office no later than 20 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time. This will ensure that you get to your tour on time and without delay. Our hope is that we can continue to make the tour experience a great one for our constituents.

If you have any other questions about the tour process feel free to either call my office at 202-225-5211 or e-mail us at congressmandeal@mail.house.gov.

Respectfully,

Nathan Deal
